Volunteers with Boomer the Hound Dog – rescued in September 2015

Mission Statement: Second Chances is a non-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to provide assistance for local animal rescues and shelters, advocate for the well-being of animals, and educate the community about responsible pet ownership.

The Second Chances volunteer group was created by a gathering of like-minded people with an appreciation for animals. Members help with daily cleaning and feeding, socialization, exercise, and finding homes for the constant population of stray cats and dogs at the local shelter in Dickinson, ND.

Volunteers often find themselves also helping and promoting local rescues and animal advocacy groups and are always willing to go above and beyond to provide care and security for all creatures.

With big hearts and helping hands, the men and women of Second Chances hope to make a difference in the community and in the lives of the many deserving pets they serve.
